GEORGIA TRANSPORTER

Originally built as a coastal self propelled equipment barge, Island Tug completely rebuilt the Georgia Transporter in 1990 to a special purpose surface support craft for tending of submarines, ROVs, and for anchor handling. When outfitted with her specially designed submarine cable equipment, the Georgia Transporter becomes a sophisticated cable layer.
